“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). Did God really mean that?

In the early 1930s a lumberyard worker named Dawson Trotman took God at His word. He led men into the Southern California mountains for a 42-day extended “prayer meeting,” interceding for their city, state, nation, and the world. Dawson recalled later: “God answered our prayers abundantly, and there was the beginning of our work called today by the name, Navigators.”

Its in this same spirit—rallying around Jeremiah 33:3—that Pray Every Day invites us to take God at His word and be intentional about prayer. Pray Every Day is an extended prayer meeting led by present-day representative of The Navigators and author of “The Pray! Prayer Journal" (Tyndale), Dean Ridings. (To learn more about Dean and his ministry with The Navigators, see www.navstaff.org/ridings).

Why make prayer a daily priority? God loves it when we pray! Gods heart is that people today will make talking with Him an everyday activity.

Gods Word says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

How to make prayer a daily priority? The purpose of the Pray Every Day app is to help you do just that—to inspire, encourage, and equip Gods people to make prayer a part of our moment-by-moment walk with God.

This is also the purpose of "The Pray! Prayer Journal,” Pray Every Days print counterpart. Consider this app its day-to-day companion.

Heres the daily "Pray! Prayer Plan":

Monday – Pray for your family
Tuesday – Pray for Gods family (the church)
Wednesday – Pray for your community
Thursday – Pray for the nation
Friday – Pray for the world
Saturday – Pray for the helpless, hopeless, hurting, and lost
Sunday – Pray for personal guidance

As in the journal itself, here youll find an elaboration of this practical plan to pray regularly. Youll also find Scripture, inspirational quotes, and much, much more.

Plus you will have an opportunity to participate in this expanded prayer meeting with countless others—you are highly encouraged to chime in with your likes, comments, and more often than not simple "amens"!

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus repeated: "When you pray," reminding us that prayer is essential to the spiritual journey. Then He gave His followers—of then and today—a very practical prayer to pray, which we call The Lords Prayer (see Matthew 6:5-15).

May this app and its print counterpart encourage YOU to grow your communication with God, to pray as Jesus taught His followers to do. In the process may you grow ever closer to the heart of God, praying prayers that are the very heart of God every day!

In light of all this, LETS PRAY!
